Steinbrunn#
Steinbrunn, Burgenland, municipality in the district of Eisenstadt Umgebung, alt. 241 m, pop. 1,584 (30 % of the population speak a Croatian vernacular), area 15.42 km2, situated to the southeast of the Leithagebirge Mountains near the Lower Austrian border; named Stinkenbrunn until 1958. - Shirt factory, steel construction, building and construction industry. - Parish church with Gothic core; after its destruction rebuilt in Baroque style in 1668-1690, high altar (1687); village chapel (1965); column dedicated to the Virgin Mary (1680); column dedicated to St. Antonius (around 1730); 4 Plague columns; Gothic penitential cross; pheasantry, former hunting lodge (late 18th century).
