Steirerbrau AG#
Steirerbrau AG, Styrian beverage company, founded in 1977 by the companies Brueder Reininghaus Brauerei-AG and Goesser Brauerei-AG, then 100 % subsidiary of the Brau-Union AG company, which is quoted on the stock-exchange; In 1998 merged with Oesterreichische Brau AG to form Brau Union Oesterreich AG. Steirerbrau AG possessed the two largest Austrian breweries at Goess (Goesser Bier, annual output: 1.1 million hl) and Puntigam (Reininghaus- and Puntigamer Bier, annual output: 1.1 million hl). Sales amounted to around 2.2 million hl in 1997 (1.8 million hl domestic); turnover in 1997: ATS 3.2 billion.
