Stemberger, Julia#
b. Vienna, Jan. 29, 1965, actress; wife of the violinist Christian Altenburger. After her debut in W. Bannert's film "Herzklopfen" invited by M. Schottenberg to work at the Vienna Schauspielhaus (e.g. musicals "Elvis", "Peer Gynt"); since 1988 has played a number of roles at the Salzburg Festival (F. Raimund, F. Grillparzer, H. von Hofmannsthal) and at the Burgtheater (W. Shakespeare); 1990 in Hamburg ("Leonce und Lena" by G. Buechner). 1993 at the Vienna Volksoper ("My Fair Lady" with M. Heltau). Internationally renowned as a film and television actress (e.g. "Erwin und Julia", 1989/1990; "Die skandaloesen Frauen", 1993; "Radetzkymarsch", 1994). Awards: Romy 1996, Golden Lion 1997 (for "Freier Fall", 1996).
