Steyrer, Kurt#

b. Linz (Upper Austria), June 3, 1920, physician and politician (Austrian Social Democratic Party, SPOe). 1975-1983 member of the Nationalrat, 1981-1985 Federal Minister of Health and Environmental Affairs; 1986 presidential candidate of the SPOe, defeated by K. Waldheim in the 2nd ballot; 1987-1988 member of the Vienna Landtag and the Vienna City Council, 1988 retired from politics.
