Straßwalchen#
Strasswalchen, province of Salzburg, market town in the district of Salzburg-Umgebung, alt. 542 m, pop. 5,867, area 44.48 km2, in the northeastern part of the Flachgau region. - Agricultural vocational school; transport industry, wood-working industry and trade, tourism. - Late-Gothic parish church with Gothic south tower and Baroque side aisles (1731-1733), high altar (1675) by M. Guggenbichler; small rural chapels with altars in the Baroque style; in Irrsdorf, late-Gothic subsidiary church (consecrated in 1408) with Gothic frescoes (15th century), altars (late-17th century) by M. Guggenbichler and/or his school.
