Straußtheater#
Strausstheater, former theatre in Vienna´s 4th district (Favoritenstrasse 8), built in 1908 and opened with a performance of "1001 Nacht" ("Arabian Nights") by J. Strauss the Younger. Completely renovated and opened under the new name of "Scala" in 1931; later used as a cinema and from 1948 as a theatre for the Russian occupying forces. After the signing of the State Treaty between Austria and the allied powers the theatre continued to be operated until mid-1956, torn down in 1959/60.
