Stricker, Salomon#
b. Nove Mesto, Slovakia (then Waag-Neustadtl), Jan. 1, 1834, d. Vienna, April 2, 1898, histologist, physiologist. From 1868 university professor in Vienna, head of the Department of General and Experimental Pathology. Introduced microscopical demonstration by means of a projection device, developed several apparatuses and obtained first valuable results on the contractility of vascular walls, the diapedesis of red blood cells and the relation of the cells to the matrix.
