Tamburizza#
Tamburizza, also tambouritza or tamburitza, 1) plucked stringed instrument, oriental lute with long neck and small rounded body, only few metal strings and many frets. Known in Europe since the 13th century, currently in widespread use as a folk instrument in Southeastern Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and the Caucasus region. 2) Folk music bands of Croats in Burgenland; tamburizza festivals have been held since 1962.
