Tannberg#
Tannberg Plateau, Vorarlberg, elevated plain in the south-eastern part of the Bregenzerwald Mountain Region, between the Widderstein (alt. 2533 m) and Braunarlspitze (2649 m) peaks; from the 14th century onwards, it was settled by the Walser people, who cleared the dense woods, so that Tannberg Plateau today is covered with alpine pastures. The area around the ( Hochtannberg Pass, alt. 1676 m) is the watershed between the River Rhine and the River Danube. Some mountain lakes, such as the Kalbelesee and Koerbersee (plant protection area) lakes, can be reached via the Hochtannberg Road. Skiing area around the settlements of Schroecken, Hochkrumbach and Warth.
