Tesarek, Anton#
b. Vienna, Sept. 1, 1896, d. Vienna, Nov. 20, 1977, educator and Social Democratic politician. 1925 founded the Social Democratic youth organization "Rote Falken"; concerned himself with education in kindergartens and day nurseries and fought against discrimination in the field of education resulting from social disadvantages. After 1934 in "protective custody", from 1938 in a concentration camp; after 1945 directed the youth welfare office in Vienna. Member of the managing board of the Kinderfreunde organisation and president of the International Falcon Movement (Sozialistische Erziehungsinternationale; IFM-SEI).
