Thalberg#
Thalberg Castle, Styria, located in the municipality of Friedberg, in the district of Hartberg; Romanesque castle from the 12th century on the banks of the River Lafnitz in the village of Schlag, first documented mention in 1204, one of the best-preserved medieval fortifications in Styria: keep made of ashlars, 2 parallel circumvallations (12 m high) with the ward from the 15th century enclosing the entire castle; chapel renovated in 1910. In former times, the castle was connected with the advance fortification on the valley bottom (built in 1499, altered in the 17th century).
