Track, Gerhard#

Track, Gerhard, b. Vienna, Sept. 17, 1934, conductor, composer, son of the master of ceremonies and composer Ernst Track. Member of the Vienna Boys' Choir and 1953-1958 its conductor; from 1958 conductor in the USA; from 1986 choir leader of the Vienna Maennergesangs-Verein (men's choir). From 1987 teacher at the Vienna Conservatory, from 1989-1999 director of the Vienna Conservatory, and various music schools of the City of Vienna; 1988-1992 president of the Austrian Society of Composers ( Komponistenbund). Composes classical and light music; numerous arrangements.
