Traeger, Wilhelm#
Traeger, Wilhelm, b. Vienna, May 27, 1907, d. Ried im Innkreis (Upper Austria), July 10, 1980, painter and neorealist graphic artist ( New Objectivity ). Studied from 1926-1932 at the Academy of Fine Arts and at the Vienna University of Technology (maths, descriptive geometry), his studies being sponsored by a Danish foster family. From 1933 art instructor in Upper Austria, 1935 member of the Upper Austrian Kunstverein artists' association and of the Vienna Secession, 1936 moved to Ried. From 1974 president of the Upper Austrian Kunstverein artists' association.
