Troger, Simon#
b. Abfaltersbach (South Tyrol), Oct. 13, 1693, d. Haidhausen (Germany), Sept. 25, 1768, wood sculptor. From 1721 worked as an assistant in Meran, 1723-1725 assistant to N. Moll in Innsbruck, from 1726 in Munich, where from around 1730 he worked for Faistenberger; from 1733 had his own workshop in Haidhausen near Munich. Specialized in statuettes made from material combinations such as ivory, wood and metal, which became famous as "T.-Figures".
