Turn- und Sportunion, Oesterreichische, founded in 1945, a Christian organisation for gymnastics and sports with headquarters in Vienna. Second largest national sports organisation within the Austrian umbrella organization, the Bundes-Sportorganisation, consists of 9 provincial associations (2000) and has one million members in more than 3,700 clubs and associations for more than 100 sports. The Oesterreichische Turn- und Sportunion regularly organises games and competitions for children and has established a general forum for sports. Promotes both competition and recreational sport activities.
