Uiberreither, Sigfried#
b. Salzburg, March 29, 1908, d. Germany, Dec. 29, 1984, law graduate and politician (National Socialist). At first illegal national socialist and member of the SA, 1938 Chief Commissioner of Police in Graz, member of the German Reichstag, commander of the SA Brigade 5 (Central Styria), 1938 to 1945 NSDAP gauleiter, from June 9, 1938 Landeshauptmann, 1940 to 1945 Reichs-Governor of Styria, 1941 Head of the civilian administration of Lower Styria, 1943 SA Obergruppenfuehrer (chief group leader). 1945 surrendered to the allies and was witness at the international military tribunal in Nuremberg. Fled to South America. Later lived in Germany under a different name.
