Ulf, Otto#
b. Vienna, March 4, 1907, d. Innsbruck (Tyrol), July 13, 1993, bassoonist, teacher. From 1932 musician in Budapest and Buenos Aires, 1938 to 1945 with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, from 1945 until his retirement taught music at the Teacher Training College in Innsbruck. Played an important role in reviving the musical life of Austria after 1945: 1963 founded the Ambraser Schlosskonzerte, in 1972 the International Summer Academy and the "Week of Ancient Music". Also pioneered the revival of ancient music.
