Universale Baugesellschaft AG, stock corporation founded by A. Fleischl and S. Toifl as a Ges. m. b. H. (limited liability company) in 1916, initially only engaged in building construction, later also started constructing bridges (Reichsbruecke), roads (Grossglockner-Hochalpenstrasse), tunnels and power stations. Developed a construction system using pre-fabricated building elements during World War I. In 1921 was converted into a stock corporation, the Anglo-oesterreichische Bank (since 1926 CA) taking over a majority of shares. Acquisition of Redlich & Berger civil engineering contractors in 1932. Takeover of the old-established Union-Baugesellschaft building company in 1980; 4,460 employees and 8.3 billion ATS annual turnover (1994).
