Universität Klagenfurt

University of Klagenfurt, established in 1970 as a college of educational sciences in order to compensate for the shortage of secondary and upper secondary school teachers and the shortcomings of pedagogical research; University of Educational Sciences in 1975. Little popularity and a surplus of teachers were the reasons for restructuring the University of Klagenfurt in 1994: The original objective, educational sciences, was abandoned and deleted from the title; faculties of cultural sciences, economic sciences and computer sciences were established; the university also offers a degree course in engineering.
