VA TECH ELIN EBG GmbH, subsidiary of (see) VA Technologie AG, result of a merger, in 1997, of the long-standing electrical engineering firms (see) ELIN and Elektro Bau AG (EBG); under its present name since December 18, 1998; headquarters in Linz, Upper Austria. Manufactures electrical, mechanical and electronic systems and plants and provides services in the fields of power distribution and application, media supply, domestic systems, infrastructure, facility management, automation and motive power engineering. The group has a number of major subsidiaries abroad; in 1998 it had a staff of approximately 4200 employees and reported sales of ATS. 7.1 billion.
