Valentin, Heiliger, Fest 7. 1#

Valentine, Saint, feast day January 7, d. Mais (South Tyrol), around 475, missionary and bishop. Expelled from Passau on numerous occasions. Worked in Ratia (the northern part of South Tyrol and the southern part of Switzerland). In 764 his remains were transported from the Zenoburg church near Meran/Merano (South Tyrol) to Passau (patron of the diocese) on the orders of Duke Tassilo III. Patron saint against epilepsy, gout, cramps and in Tyrol against diseases of cattle.
