Waldkirchen am Wesen, Upper Austria, municipality in the district of Schaerding, alt. 550 m, pop. 1,354, area 21.40 km2, on the steep southern bank of the Danube, close to the Schloegen Oxbow of the River Danube. - Transport industry, garage. - Gothic parish church (first documented mention 1282), extended in 1906, with neo-Gothic interior; cemetery with wrought-iron crosses; medieval fortress ruins.
