Weish, Peter#
b. Vienna, Nov. 29, 1936, biologist. Since 1992 dozent at the Department of Anthropology of the University of Vienna, lecturer at the University of Economics and Business Administration and the University of Agricultural Sciences, Vienna. Plays a significant role in the environmentalist movement in Austria: Spokesman for the Initiative against Genetic Engineering (1997), president of the Forum of Austrian Scientists for Environmental Protection and of the Environment Forum, chairman of Anti Atom International. Awarded the Konrad Lorenz Prize in 1999.
