Weissensteiner, Raimund, b. Hoheneich (Lower Austria), Aug. 14, 1905, d. Vienna, July 12, 1997. Composer, priest. Pupil of F. Schmidt and O. Kabasta; 1938-1968 taught at the Vienna Musikhochschule*; 1943-1945 detained for political reasons. Wrote mostly orchestral works and oratorios.
