Wiesenthal, Grete#
b. Vienna, Dec. 9, 1885, d. Vienna, June 22, 1970, ballet dancer. 1902 soloist of the Vienna Court Opera Ballet; Professor at the Vienna School of Performing Arts from 1934-1952. Before World War I she created, with her sisters Elsa and Berta W. a new dancing style based on the Vienna waltz ("G.-W. technique"), which greatly influenced modern dance ( ballet); founded her own dance group and dancing school in 1912.
