Wiesner, Judith#

b. Hallein (Salzburg), March 2, 1966, tennis player and politician (Austrian People's Party, OeVP). Won the Austrian championship 5 times; professional since 1985; won the tournaments of Aix-en-Provence (1988), Arcachon (1989) and Strasbourg (1992). In 1990 J. W. reached the final of the Grand Slam tournament of Key Biscane and held the 13th rank in the world rankings; in 1996 she was the first Austrian woman to reach the quarter-finals of Wimbledon and the US Open. Finished her career in 1997 and since then has been an official of the OeVP in Salzburg.
