Wilder, Billy eigentlich Samuel Wilder#
b. Sucha (Poland), June 22, 1906, script writer, film director. Lived in Vienna from 1910, journalist in Vienna, from 1926 in Berlin; emigrated to France in 1933, to the USA in 1934, where he became one of the leading directors of Hollywood comedies; directed numerous films with stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Shirley MacLaine and Jack Lemmon. Won 6 Oscars.
