Wilhelminenberg#
Wilhelminenberg Palace, palace on a hill of the same name in Vienna's 16th district (also called Gallitzinberg Hill); obtained by Prince Montleart in 1824, who named it after his wife Wilhelmine; purchased by the municipality of Vienna in 1927 and turned into a children's home of the Kinderuebernahmsstelle (Foster Care Service); after its closure in 1977, a family and youth hostel was opened in 1986-1988. There is also a Biological Station on the Wilhelminenberg Hill.
