b. Berlin (Germany), Nov. 21, 1928, actor, director, managing director. Studied in Hamburg; later acted in Oldenburg, Kiel, Duesseldorf (member of the Gruendgens ensemble for four years), Munich and Hamburg. In Vienna since 1956; after several appearances at the Vienna Theater in der Josefstadt, member of the Vienna Burgtheater; toured Europe and America as actor and director; appearances at festivals in Austria and Germany; managing director of the festival at Stockerau (1971-1997), of the summer festival at Laxenburg (since 1980) and the summer festival at Perchtoldsdorf (1981-1996). Numerous awards.
