Wolayer See#
Lake Wolay, Carinthia, alt. 1,967 m, 300 m long and 200 m wide, small mountain lake in the Carnic Alps between Seekopf mountain (alt. 2,554 m) and Seewarte mountain (alt. 2,595 m); the nearest large municipality is Koetschach-Mautern in the northeast. The area around Lake Wolay is a nature reserve. To the north of Lake Wolay, the Wolayer Bach stream flows towards the River Gail; via the Wolayer Pass (alt. 1,974 m) a footpath leads from Carinthia to Italy; it connects the Lesachtal Valley to the Canale di Giorto.
