Wopfinger Stein- und Kalkwerke Schmid & Co., lime works in Waldegg/Wopfing (Lower Austria), purchased by A. Schmid in 1939, enlarged and finally turned into a company pioneering the production of dry-slaked lime ("special lime"). After destruction during Word War II reconstructed in 1951. Construction of cement works in 1980 and production site of finishing coat materials in 1986. Market share of hydrated lime in Austria amounts to 50%, turnover amounted to around ATS 1.3 billion in 1993 (570 employees).
