b. Neumarkt im Hausruckkreis (Upper Austria), Sept. 18, 1850, d. Vienna, Jan. 30, 1907, railway engineer. Head of the Styrian Office of Railways; in charge of the construction of railways at the Ministry of Railways in Vienna from 1894-1905; supervised the building of the western half of the Arlberg Tunnel as well as the construction of the Tauern, Karawanken and Pyhrn railway lines.
