Zelman, Leon#
b. Szczekociny (Poland), June 12, 1928, journalist. Co-founder (1978) and head of the Jewish Welcome Service Vienna. After his liberation from the Mauthausen concentration camp, studied journalism at the University of Vienna; became one of the leading representatives of the Jewish Students' Association; co-founder of the magazine "Das Juedische Echo" in 1951. His project "Welcome to Vienna" enabled him to invite many Jewish emigrants to Vienna who had been forced to leave Austria in 1938.
