Zeska, Philipp#
b. Vienna, April 27, 1896, d. Vienna, Aug. 5, 1977, Kammerschauspieler, director, writer, son of Karl Zeska. Started his career at the Vienna Stadttheater, acted at the Vienna Burgtheater (320 parts) from 1920, worked also as director at the Vienna Burgtheater from 1932 to 1945. With Karl Eidlitz was head of the Vienna Akademietheater (the Burgtheater Studio) from 1931 to 1935, worked as a visiting director at the Vienna Deutsches Volkstheater from 1940 to 1943, 1945 founding member and president of the Society for the Promotion of New Dramatization Methods; manager of the Klagenfurt Stadttheater from 1957 to 1959. Awarded the honorary ring of the Vienna Burgtheater in 1964.
