Zsolnay, Paul#
b. Budapest (Hungary), June 12, 1895, d. Vienna, May 12, 1961, publisher. Founded the P. Z. Verlag, a publishing company for fiction, in Vienna in 1923; emigrated to Great Britain in 1938, where he set up the publishing company Heinemann & Z. and came into contact with world-famous British writers (e.g. Graham Greene). In 1946 he returned to Vienna, where he once again took over the management of the P. Z. Verlag (Vienna and Hamburg), which publishes modern literature as well as books on history, politics, contemporary history, arts and art history. The company has been in German hands since 1990.
