Zele Racing
Zele Racing ist ein österreichisches Motorsportteam aus Bleiburg, Kärnten.[1] Es tritt seit 2012 unter anderem in der Auto GP an.
Geschichte
Zele Racing wurde 2001 von Hermann Zele, einem ehemaligen Motorradrennfahrer, und dessen Sohn Michael Zele gegründet.[1] Es trat 2002 und 2003 in der World Series by Nissan an. Ein dritter Platz von Norbert Siedler war die beste Platzierung von Zele in der Meisterschaft. 2004 nahm Zele an den ersten vier Rennen der Superfund Euro Formel 3000 teil. Dabei erzielte Christiano Rocha mit einem zweiten Platz eine Podest-Platzierung. Anschließend zog sich Zele Racing aus dem professionellen Motorsport zurück und betreute Privatkunden.[1]
2012 kehrte Zele Racing in den professionellen Motorsport zurück und stieg mit zwei Fahrzeugen in die Auto GP World Series, der Nachfolgeserie der Superfund Euro Formel 3000, ein. Insgesamt setzte Zele sieben Fahrer ein. Unter anderem ging der ehemalige Formel-1-Pilot Antonio Pizzonia bei einer Veranstaltung für Zele an den Start. Zwei dritte Plätze von Giacomo Ricci und Sergio Campana waren die besten Platzierungen. In der Teamwertung erreichte Zele Racing den achten und damit letzten Platz. Im Gegensatz zu Zele waren alle anderen Teams fast durchgängig mit zwei Fahrzeugen am Start. 2013 verpflichtete Zele Racing Luciano Bacheta, den amtierenden Meister der Formel 2, und Narain Karthikeyan, der in der Vorsaison in der Formel 1 aktiv war. Beim zweiten Rennen in Marrakesch erzielte Bacheta den ersten Auto-GP-Sieg für Zele Racing.
