Bob Doran#
Bob Doran was born in Lower Hut, New Zealand November 5, 1944.
He first studied Mathematics in NZ, but got a degree in Computer Science from Standford in 1967. His first academic post was at the City University, London.
After a stint in his home country from late 1970 to 1977 he became Principal Computer Architect at the Amdahl Corporationtion in California, but returned as Professor to the University of Auckland, New Zealand in 1982 and stayed there as one of the most influencial persons in Computer Science of NZ till his death October 13, 2018.

This very short biography and the book mentioned are incorporated into Austrian-Forum because Doran has deeply influenced the long term chair of Austria-Forum Hermann Maurer (who also contributed a story to the book), and Professor Dr. Cris Calude, who is one of the important editors of Austria-Forum, but also one of the editors and authors of the book mentioned.
