Stellenbosch Stellenbosch, Westkap, Südafrika is one of the few areas of the world where tropical fruits grow side by side with fruit-bearing trees of moderate climates and sometimes even bear fruit at the same time. In the middle of the left side of this picture a banana plant is in bloom while further above well developed fruits can be seen. On the right side a pear has nearly ripe fruit.
