Balboa Park is the nations largest urban cultural park occupying 1,200 acres (490 ha). Placed in reserve in 1835, the parks site is one of the oldest in the United States dedicated to public recreational use. Home to 15 major museums, renowned performing arts venues, beautiful gardens and the San Diego Zoo, the Park has an ever-changing calendar of museum exhibitions, plays, musicals, concerts, and educational activities. The picture shows the San Diego Museum of Man which is a museum of anthropology.
