Filerimos#

Not far from the airport in an otherwise not very interesting part of the island rises a hill with the ruins of an old Byzantine fortification and an intact monastery and church Filerimos, Ialyssos Rhodes .

The area is particularly surprising since the top of the 300 m hill is a large natural plateau allowing for buildings, tree lined footpaths, olive groves, and an assembly of churches.
