Jewishness and the Viennese Volkssänger | 119 and performing musicians to create their own fl ag. For this purpose, they organized a festive procession accompanied by riders on horseback wearing traditional old German costume as well as a fanfare of brass music. A band, numerous girls dressed in white, and fi nally the Volkssänger followed. Th e mayor Karl Lueger and other offi cials were already waiting in the church where the fl ag consecration ceremony took place.
