Blindenmarkt, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Melk, alt. 246 m, pop. 2,218, area 17.04 km2, recreational resort in the Lower Ybbs valley; 3 swimming lakes; production of concrete building material and roofing tiles. - First documented mention around 1250; Baroque parish church (1750), Hubertushof castle (17th -19th century), centre for adult education from 1930-1938, from 1938-1945 "Nationalpolitische Erziehungsanstalt" (Institute of national-political education); Auhof Castle.
