Breitenau am Hochlantsch, Styria, market town in the district of Bruck an der Mur, alt. 607 m, pop. 2,430, area 62.41 km2, situated in the valley of the Breitenau stream which flows into the River Mur/Mura between the municipality of Pernegg and the village of Mixnitz. - Economy dominated by Veitsch-Radex GmbH (magnesia products). - In St. Jakob, Gothic-Baroque parish church (high altar in 1769), in St. Erhard, Early to High Gothic pilgrimage church (13th - 14th century) with Gothic glass paintings.
