Codex Alimentarius Austriacus#
Codex Alimentarius Austriacus, excellent Austrian reference book on foodstuffs and food ingredients, standard literature for food inspectors, originated from the scientific commission founded in 1891 (in existence until 1898). Completed in three volumes by O. Dafert 1910-1917 (21936). Since 1975 the Codex commission has been governed by the food law, which regulates its function and personnel. Since then numerous chapters have been revised or re-written in the course of the 3rd edition. The Codex commission is subordinate to the Federal Ministry for Health.
