Gaishorn am See, Styria, market town in the district of Liezen, alt. 723 m, pop. 1,015, area 40.51 km2, situated in Paltental valley in the western part of the Eisenerz Alps, on the old salt road leading from Selzthal to St. Michael via the Schober Pass. - Emmental cheese dairy. - Parish church (first documented mention 1180, reconstruction 1480-1520) with Baroque interior; St. Virgil church (consecration 1465, reconstruction 1524) on a hill, Protestant church (1872-1880).
