Galtür#

Galtuer, Tyrol, municipality in the district of Landeck, alt. 1,584 m, pop. 692, area 121.17 km2, skiing centre (465,222 overnight stays) in the inner Paznaun valley, close to the provincial border to Vorarlberg; starting point and toll-gate of the Silvretta Alpine road; pump station of the Vorarlberger Illwerke-AG. Settled by the Walsers around 1300, pilgrimage church restored 1622-1624 after a fire, Baroque reconstruction 1777-1779, expanded by C. Holzmeister 1967/68.
