Grünburg#

Gruenburg, Upper Austria, municipality in the district of Kirchdorf an der Krems, alt. 365 m, pop. 3,698, area 43.25 km2, small industrial town in the Steyrtal valley, last stop of the Steyrtalbahn railway line, which was shut down in 1982, now runs steam engines during the summer. - External office of the youth welfare department of the District Commission, young people´s home (Leonstein Castle), Sengsengebirge nature preserve (since 1976, area 35 km2), Feichtau meteorological station, Agonitz power plant; wood processing (parquet flooring, furniture, wooden articles, wood turning), production of cardboard and corrugated cardboard packaging. - Late Gothic parish church with Baroque north chapel.
