Greuter, Josef, b. Tarrenz (Tyrol), Oct. 1, 1817, d. Innsbruck (Tyrol), June 21, 1888, priest, Capuchin friar, secondary school teacher and politician. Represented the interests of the Catholic church in the Landtag and the Reichsrat, strong opponent of the Imperial Decree on Protestantism of 1861 and liberal school legislation (from 1868).
