Himmelberg, Carinthia, municipality in the district of Feldkirchen, alt. 672 m, pop. 2,320, area 56.90 km2, formerly known for its scythe manufacture, situated on the Tiebelbach stream in the mountainous forest region north-west of Feldkirchen. -Oberboden power station; iron-processing enterprises (ornamental forged iron products, garden benches, band saws, etc.), building trade, summer tourism (25,817 overnight stays). - First documented mention 1065/66 as "Sulca"; Gothic parish church with Baroque alterations, Baroque interior and murals (around 1750); Gothic charnel house; Pichlern filial church with winged altarpiece (around 1520); Biberstein Castle (1396) with arcades (16th century); boundary stone (1612).
