Hollmann, Hans#
b. Graz, Feb. 4, 1933, director. After obtaining a doctorate in law, took acting lessons at the Reinhardt-Seminar drama school in Vienna, 1958 first roles at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna, then turned to directing; directed in many towns including Vienna, Hamburg, Bremen, Berlin, Duesseldorf and Basle (Oe. v. Horváth's "Kasimir and Karoline", B. Brecht's "Die Tage der Commune", K. Kraus' "Die letzten Tage der Menschheit", H. von Hofmannsthal's "Der Turm", etc.). 1975-1978 manager of the Basle Stadttheater; from 1977 increased focus on music theatre; since 1991 professor of stage direction in Frankfurt am Main; film and television work; 1969 awarded the J. Kainz Medal.
